My son is 16 years old, just finished 5th Form and would like to work this Summer. Can you please let me know where he has to go to apply for his workbook and what documents he needs to take with him? Can he come alone or does he need to come with one of his parents?

You do not need to go to the social security district office to apply for a new national insurance number for your son as you can apply online and follow the instructions on this link Online application for social security number
